Title: LPG price
Post by: GLENN 70 on December 20, 2013, 09:50:06 am
I was shocked to see the price of  LPG  the other day ,98.9 c ,since then most have now dropped to 94.9 and 96.9 . And these are gold coast city prices not some country town or out west prices . I have owned quite a few cars on LPG ,but not at the moment and at those prices why would you .

Haven't purchased LPG in maybe 8-10 months. Was way cheaper back then too. At these prices, my 351W EFI F150 4x4 is cheaper to run on petrol. So definitely a case of why bother with LPG especially when it goes so much better on petrol too.

LPG .. Its a joke, no its theft..  Something which is so cheap to produce, they try and keep it up around half the price of petrol.  But still charge a fortune..

With the newer computerized systems, the usage is much closer between gas and petrol.
my 4.0L v6 auto hilux dual cab 4wd gets the same economy on both - 3.5kml loaded with survey gear or 5.0kml empty.
so its still worth filling with gas, even if a full tank of 250 litres is costing $230.00

My car is on duel fuel and I am getting to the stage where I think I will remove the gas (LPG) and just run on petrol, we are definitely getting ripped off.

time to top up the BBQ cylinder - if prices go up at the pump, I'd expect the flowon to hit bottled gas.

The only place I fill up now is at the Woolworths station, Woolies membership and the extra discount makes it affordable.  Everywhere else is daylight robbery.
