Interstate Gearbox Transport
« on: June 13, 2017, 08:03:40 pm »
I'm looking at purchasing a gearbox which is located in Sydney and needs to be sent down to me in Melbourne.

The seller doesn't want to put it on a pallet for me. So what I need is a company to pick up from his house, strap it on to a mini pallet and send it down.

Is Pack and Send my only option for this? Or is there a freight company that will transport it without being on a pallet?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Depending on weight, E-go may do it for you.  It will also be much cheaper if the seller can arrange to drop it off at one of their depots and you do the same on pickup.
Cheers,
Brian

I doubt e-go will come to their house and strap it. You really need it strapped/tied down to a pallet and dropped off at their depot. It will only be about 50 bucks that way. I've sent and revieved gearboxes with e-go and both times were $50.
Where in sydney is it?

The gearbox is located in Picnic Point.

I'm waiting to hear back on a quote from Pack and Send but I'm guessing it won't be cheap.

I've already spoken to e-go and they need it to be drained of fluid and on a pallet to collect it.
