I'm with you Ron and they had callers ringing in to a local radio station here in Melbourne last week about the pro's and con's of having one.

Without getting into a public slinging match, I know who I trust with engine & I also know who whiplash trusts with his,& if this is the same mechanic oz67fb has used then I'd be confident you have not been ripped off, that it is money well spent.

Its not supposed to happen but I think at least 60% of C4's probably do it.
It will only probably only happen every now and then as the motor has to stop on the right stroke for it to happen.

Got toasted yesterday doing a wedding as a favour, it was at least 42 degrees and we started at 1:45 and I got home at 7:00 pm! I was sh!t scared the thing would pop, but fortunately it held together, would never have taken it out in that sort of weather normally but you can't back out on someone's big day. Today was much nicer and we spent the day with about 20 cars cruising for lunch and then afternoon tea up in the hills. Hope you have a good Australia day.

Post by: Cully on June 25, 2009, 11:44:21 pm: I hate the fact that I had my alarm/immobiliser fitted by Alberts Car Stereo in Midland (Perth). Asked for a top of the line, got told, no probs, will have all the bells and whistles, boot and bonnet switches etc..
Dropped it off start of the day to be picked up at the end of the day.. I turn up and - sorry, not finished, can I come back tomorrow.... ok, so come back Close of business the next day.. Alarms done but.... something seems to be wrong with your brake lights.. they don't work (they broke the wire), the alarm is the base model, the alarm is just shoved under the dash (not mounted to anything), no boot alarm, the wiring in the engine bay is all hidden, except the 2 black wires they have randomly run through the engine bay... (EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention they didn't bother putting the boot switch in).. They didnt even bother cutting the panduit straps (minor thing I know)

I'm going back tomorrow to have a bit of a discussion with them.. If I get a satisfactory outcome I will post it.. but honestly.. what a bunch of amateurs (I spent 7.5 years in the airforce as an electronics technician) and also helped install show car stereos in Canberra....

Edit2: Just found the disarm code is still on the ALARM (in the car).. yeah that works

Yeah, it was a close call,but for the alarm I thought qualified installer so the insurance will cover it... I should have fought a little harder as I was an electronics tech in the Airforce, so I should be qualified... Ahh well, live and learn.

What makes it worse is that i have almost enough cash owing to me to cover purchasing one but i cant access the bloody money.

ANNNND i all of a sudden have decided i want to extend a bloody brick garage and include a thick enough pad and room for a fricken hoist before i import one.

Why is life filled with so many bloody wants.... erm, i mean 'needs' ??? :_:_

PS. Does anyone have any experience with shed builders in Perth who wont gouge me to extend an established brick shed with tin and replace the tiled roof with a tall slanted roof?
