Defective airbags recall for Mustangs
« on: March 08, 2018, 07:34:39 pm »
Much publicity about this serious issue in the past days. I was looking at the Takata airbag recall list of affected vehicles earlier today and noted that Mustangs are included - IIRC it is for years 2006-14 (best check that).
Anyone here affected and getting on to the issue? The older the airbag the greater the risk of degradation, much has to do with environmental affects such as high humidity and/or heat, as I read it.

Unluckily, I believe I have the spear-o-matic steering column in my 65.

Thankfully I upgraded to lap-sash seat belts, primarily for that reason.

Haha, reminds me of the first time I took my brother and sister in law for a run in the 66,
Word for word this is how it went no joke
Sister in law - "so does this have air bags?"  it was a serious question!
Brother - "yes babe, you gotta take a quick breath, close your lips tight and blow out, that's your air bag"
It was a quiet ride from that point on 😁
