That '68.5 is a cracking price - you sure that's not a typo?
-
Hi Jiffy,
Yes, the price is correct. We would are looking to sell to an enthusiast such as yourself.
The KR has real character, such as the tow bar fitted by the 2nd owner to take his GT350 to the track.
Come to Darwin & have a look, probably the coldest capital city in Aust at the moment.
-
Hi Jiffy,
See Tow Bar picture.
No doubt the only Shelby in Australia with a tow bar.
-
Looks the goods, but you’d have to swap it for a half-restored ‘69 CJ and a 90% done 63 Galaxie....
Probably not going to happen....😉
-
Well....I did it, I bought the 68...today :pepper:
Sorry bout that Jiffy :smile01:
First owner had it for 12 months, second owner 40 years, then to Oz to the guy I bought it off who had it 10 yrs.
Never restored so I'm a bit torn as to how to go with it, but current thinking is keep the entire interior trim as is, lots of very very cool "patina" there, have a high quality panel/paint job, all mechanicals rebuilt and detail underneath the car.
At least I know what I'm doing with my spare time for the next couple of years.
Very very happy right now....
-
Congratulations!
Gotta keep the towbar, part of the car's history.

Well done, if you haven't already - pop over to http://www.saacforum.com/, lots of good info there. I am betting the consensus would be to keep it as a survivor if you have original paint etc
cheers

If your gonna do a resto, let survivor car magazine do an article while its still original.
-
Thanks for the feedback. The interior is in great survivor shape, same goes for the body. The paint is rough, down to the primer and even bare metal in a couple of patches (has been covered in clear).I noticed a patch of lighter green on the car yesterday and after a little research last night I'm not so sure it's original paint,if so that will make the respray decision a little easier.

Congrats, a great pickup

2011 GT 500 is still available.
Looking to send to good home, just like the 68 GT 500 KR.
Price negotiable, low km’s only 16k/km.
Car, as new condition.
Recently awarded Best Modern Mustang in Shannon’s All Ford Show.

I saw Tim's 2011 when I bought the 68 and it is a very cool looking car.
Tim was upfront with me on the 68 and is a standup guy, if you have any interest this 2011 is worth a look I think.
Anyone looking at a new mustang may do well to look at this instead, for a little extra coin maybe get on the right side of the depreciation curve and also have something you won't see another of when out cruising.
I have no connection with Tim, just my thoughts.
