Just a quick massive thanks to Steve from Prestige St.Marys for making me feel comfortable in his professionalism and workmanship!! So far everything has gone by smoothly and quickly which is a bonus for an unpatient plick like myself!:p
Steve relises the distance and time difficulty so he has been keeping me posted with progress photos and phone calls!

Hey Baz,
You still have drum brakes on the old girl, just fitting new SSBC kit to mine, I am most impressed with what comes in the kit. She will look good when finished. I thought fast backs were mostly fitted with discs.
Cheers
Ashley.

Hey Ashley....
I've purchased discs all round from a advert from this forum.....bargain at $300!! had to drive to Newcastle to getem.
It'll be just one of the many upgrades to be carried out once we have the bod looking good and straight.

Well, spoke to the Man from Capital Classics...he informed me that if I decided to be just like every other dikhead and go with the pepper grey etc then I'd only be down about $450 as its only the seats and door trims that were custom colored to match the rest.
Everything else can be just swapped for black if I wanted as they are standard...i.e carpet, roof lining, dash pad etc ...
Therefore, I'd be down $450 but also have extra seat coverings (Red outer/white inserts), and deluxe red door panels which I can try and sell both on ebay etc..
Long story short, I now have a choice!! I'm not stuck with the red and white interior and can decide to go with pepper grey outer if I so wish....
The question is now which way to go? we do have a while before gotta decide, as you can see above, plenty of work and time ahead.:o

ye, looking different for sure! Looking sweet too.....
but I have a nagging issue, and that is resale value, I know I say I ain't doing it to sell, but one day may come when I need or have to sell, and I think the original Eleanor colors will always sell quicker or higher than any other different color.....true?
I like both colors, and don't really have a preferance.....I think the red/whit will be in your face stand-out....but I'm sure an Eleanor whateva color is going to be a stand out on Sydney streets........I've only ever seen one cruizin around the Cross.....let me tell you, I was palpatating!!

was it really necessary to call owners of grey/black Eleanors dikheads ?  regardless of whether it is yours or your guy @ capitol classics opinion.

totally uncalled for.

Cheers,
Frank.

I guess the thing is Eleanor is always seen as grey,
otherwise it cant be an Eleanor,
and realistically how many are there in Aus,
they aint like a commodore,
so calling people dickheads is a bit much

I'll second that - Common fact is that a lot of mustangs are red (my two are), but not with that kit and the two tone red/white interior would suit it really well.

But Baz,  It is your car, and you know what you really wanted when you bought the kit all those years ago, so why not build it how you originally envisaged it...  not what we on this forum suggest you do.  :[

Hey Mo,
i know at the end of the day (or should I say year..lol) it will be my decision.
But I value the opinions of this forum members, as so far none has let me down but one.
Some of you guys have been around these cars for years so you speak from experience......even if you're a little sensitive at times....:+

;}I hereby promise to never call pepper grey/black strip Eleanor owners dickheads or otherwise.

Yeah but the beauty of Mustang is you can buy all the parts new, not like an XY falcon or a HK Monaro. So in real terms they are easier and cheaper to fix and they come to gether pretty quickly as a result.

Just added a few more pics to the new album. Pretty happy with the fit of the parts so far. The firewall could be passed of as genuine it was that good.

The floor needed a bit of massaging but no more than I expected. I have been a bit lazy & not typed comments on the pics as most are fairly self explanatory. Shaun P will probably pick this up but have a look at the pic of the N/S rear skirt section. Gives a good indication of how far out the rail is on that side. Measuring fron the top of the tower it is nearly 30mm up & back.

Yeah but it will be easy to move rails around with skirts off. It's been around a bit that's for sure. You have it that far apart you should have made it RHD. It will come together pretty quick like I said.

I asked Bas if he wanted us to convert it while we were going. He wants to keep it left hook & get the whole US feel.

That skirt section is now fitting like a new one, hopefully the front will be done by the end of the week. We need to get the body squared away so we can get it off the bench. There is a bit of a cue forming with the car-o-liner tied up with a big hit on a Rodeo.
