65 FB values atm
« on: August 31, 2021, 03:42:14 pm »
Guys

What's the general feel on prices now? (and yep, covid will be a pain inspection wise)

Will advertise mine in a couple of weeks once I get the pics ready - its a 5R09A, I imported it in 2017 (was registered in Cal, was used as a weekend/toy for a bit of local autocross). Done up as a GT350 clone, 347, T5, 9", 3" side pipes, bolt in cage, accusump, new disk brakes all round, new wheels/tyres (15 and 16 combos) etc

My plan was for a bit of fun at the track and maybe grow into Targa - realising now I am not going to challenge Ricciardo anytime soon, I simply don't have the time/balls/competence and in total I have probably done less than 30laps in it (best being a 1.13 at Barbagallo, car is quick - driver less so)

Guessing most will want a street car - I have most of the bits to go back (seats, trap door, bumper etc), think it may need the brakes engineered (or the old combo can go back on) but will need carpet and quieter exhaust

Owes me 75k, I am thinking this is reasonable? (car is straight, paint would be a 8/10, no rust but a little scruffy underneath)

cheers

Cheers Phil.
If you've never buggered anything you've never done anything!
But if you've buggered a lot maybe you're not very good at it!

Two for one is good but four for two is better!

$75K is not unreasonable - not familiar with the most early cars but an A code is a genuine GT 289?
Or at least the 4v engine (K-Code being the HiPo one) - so as a 347/5-speed etc then you'll likely appeal to both restorers and entusiasts.

Good luck with the sale....

Black 2002 SVT Cobra - 2003 Terminator Clone (575rwhp/716rwtq - SOLD)
Black ‘63.5 Galaxie 4SPD fastback (just you wait...)

Prices are sky-high right now.

There are 2 types: heavily modified that another driver sees value in the changes or heavily original collector cars that another driver wants to maintain.

Various examples of 65/66s on CarSales between $150k-180k in those 2 types above. The most interesting one I'm watching now is a heavily restored/concourse-chasing 66 GT Fastback: https://www.grays.com/lot/0001-20080132/classic-cars/1966-ford-mustang-gt-fastback?spr=true&fbclid=IwAR2wmrej7LtJbbQr8HXJH8KAZBTf02SIk-Cl81BANb3-CFMdV0Su_u3Yz2k

As at time of writing it is at $149k (including buyer premiums)

That car is beautiful.

I notice also crazy prices for normal coupe without concourse restoration… $60-85k, even one coupe at $99k on carsales

Well had my ad up for a bit but took it down before Xmas (have a guy looking at it this weekend, if he does not proceed I will put it back up)

What was interesting was the quality of some of the calls (way different to the normal tyre kickers and dreamers you get), people that were actually fun to chat to and could imagine having a beer with them and chatting cars for hours

1 - Gent from Sydney, in his 70's that has a very nice R code tribute and two Ferraris.
2 - Gent from Melbourne, looking to hop out of his targa GT3 and into a classic (a bit more sedate pace)
3 - Gent from Perth, has a Group N coupe, wants a FB
