Another Overhaulin episode. I am sure you will get the paint done in time Rod, nothing like a bit of last minute action to make it all worthwhile in the end. Good luck to Ron as well, his car is looking brilliant.

Hi Mark, The boys are fairly relaxed about having the respray finished in time. This morning the body was scuffed with 800 grit wet rub to prepare it for paint. Then this afternoon they refitted the body kit ( after scuffing it back) using a combination of screws, tape and Sikaflex.  Luke says he will have it in the booth for taping up tomorrow afternoon then paint early Friday. That leaves the weekend for polishing and re assembly.

Had a good look under Ron`s car late this afternoon and found it very, very clean and tidy. Ron has finished fitting the carby and has the car running sweet. We are keeping a close eye on the weather for Geelong next week. Starting to look like it will be wet -

Guess we will be taking a good supply of Microfibre cloths to clean under Kym`s and Ron`s Mustangs.

More photos of progress on the 95 GT tomorrow.

Yes Dale, I remember it well. We all had a fantastic time. :thumb:

It has been a good day at Image. Jeremy took Jack`s Indian Fire Mach1 through Regency and it passed first time around. Happy with that. Brad and Fiona will deliver the car to Jack and Briar on their way home tonight.

Congratulations Jack and Briar  :thumb: :burnout:

The boys are ahead of schedule with the paint job on the 95 GT. Luke is painting the car right now -

He is almost ready to shoot 3 coats of clear over the base coat. Will see if I can get a photo after it has baked in the booth.

Hi Jack, Well I am happy that you are happy that Jeremy is happy, but most importantly we hope you are happy with the Mach1. :thumb:

Even Luke is happy, so happy that after he had sprayed 3 coats of clear on the 95 GT, he let it flash off then sprayed a 4th coat. :smile01: Brad and Fiona are very happy with it too! :smile01:

Tomorrow Luke will paint the side skirts and a few small items then polish the car before it is put back together. Should be a relaxing weekend before we take off for Geelong.

The Rego Gods are certainly smiling upon us this week Did not start out well on Tuesday. Jeremy took the 67 Coupe for the ID inspection and because the inspector could see the very edge of the second Vin No. which is covered by the front guard, he made Jeremy bring the car back to work in order to wire wheel underneath the inner guard so that they could read the numbers. He took the car back and they could read the numbers and so the car passed ID inspection.

He returned to Regency this morning for the Roadworthy inspection and the car passed with flying colours. So 2 cars in 2 days passed first time. Happy days :smile01:

Only down side is because we have to wait up to 2 weeks for the LHD Exemption to arrive before the car can be Registered, new owner Neil cannot drive the car to the Geelong Nationals as he had planned. Bugger!

Yep... I hope Neil is happy with the car. This Vintage Burgundy 67 Coupe is one of my all time favourite Mustangs :thumb:

Did not go to work today. Jeremy and I are in the middle of a major renovation of a rental property - we had to go there and do some work today. Thankfully Brad has put up a photo of the 95 GT on our facebook page -

Looks like they have finished the polishing job and put it back together already.

Fellas don't cop the two week garbage on LHD exemption.
I've just been through this nonsense. It's a single page standard document with three photos of your car with your rego
and name and address on the letter. Why should it take more than a day?
After getting various time estimates [days to maybe 6 weeks] from the same public servant,i went to my local MP
and complained about the "Yes Minister" attitude.I then returned to the Regency Park office saw the very same guy,
told him I'd seen my MP.Done immediately!!
That whole Rego Department needs to be privatised. If you ran a business with the same attitude and efficiency
you would be broke in a very short time.

Tom, Macka, Nice to know that when push comes to shove with the exemption they will come to the party. This business of having to wait for the exemption to arrive by post before you can register your car is a recent policy and  I agree it seems ridiculous. But because we take cars through on an ever increasing regular basis I do not feel it is in our best interest to challenge them about it. Hard enough to get a car passed already. However there would be nothing to stop the individual owners of the cars from kicking up a stink.

Mark I really did not think they could do the respray that quickly, although with 3 people on the job I guess it became a bit easier. Can`t wait to check it out in person on Monday.

Hi Michael, Thanks - From what I have seen on facebook Brad and Fiona are absolutely stoked with it. :thumb: In fact Brad did a lot of work on the car himself like the pull down, wet rubbing and re assembly. It was a team effort by them all. I hope they are out driving it this weekend. The car had only been driven back from the Auto Trans Specialist before it was pulled apart. Brad said the Trans feels excellent but I would still like to see him drive it around before the trip.

Speaking of trips - Congratulations Michael! His name was pulled out of the hat in the ballot for those to drive around the Ford Test Track at the You Yangs. Lucky bugger!  :burnout:

Hi David, Yes.... South Australian Government has always had an archaic attitude toward many things ie lets complicate something simple!

Up until recently you would have the car inspected and when passed you would just go and Register the car then drive it. The LHD Exemption would arrive in the post several weeks later. It is a requirement to keep it in the car at all times so that it can be produced to any law enforcement officer who may pull you over. By virtue of the fact that the car is registered should really tell anybody that it has LHD Exemption. I think the photos are supposed to show what the car looked like when first Registered, thus preventing anybody from fitting Alloy Wheels, fancy Stereo or other after market items lest they be committing an offence by driving a non factory original car

Archaic? Ridiculous? Well... This is South Australia!

By the way, those photos you took today are sensational. :thumb:

Easy.... Just get up at 4am and leave home at 5am  Can you still get those early morning reminder calls?

Looks like it will be nice weather on Wednesday and Thursday for the trip over, but a few (possible) showers are forecast for Geelong on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bugger!

Just had 3 cars cleared by Customs/Aqis. First one was just now driven back to work - a beauty - It is owned by a chap in Queensland. Shermatt shipped it to us so that we can give it a respray, then it will be taken up to Queensland - Reckon it would be an enjoyable drive too :burnout:

Love the Interior -

Next one to come back is a whale of a car. A 66 Ford Galaxie with a 390 in it. Photos later.

We really like this one - 66 Ford Galaxie 500 -

Came with a bunch of receipts -

You could fit a lot of people inside this car -

The car is very tidy and original. Does not need paint - just a good polish, get her through Rego then on the market it will go.

We never had time to pick up the third car today. We will send a tow truck to pick it up tomorrow. It is a 66 Ford Fairlane 2 door which is also a very tidy original car.

Very very nice  :thumb:

Thanks Mark.

Rick brought Emberglow in this morning to have a new water pump fitted. One of those times when you think the car is ready to go for a long cruise but then a small coolant leak appears. Glad he caught it before we hit the road tomorrow -

Brad and Mark  removed the old water pump, painted the new one then had it fitted well before lunchtime.

Luke wanted to give Brad and Fiona`s 95 GT a quick Menzerna polish to finish off the new paint job -

Everybody commented on how well the Menzerna made the paint look. In the below photo Luke has polished the front but not the door -

Meanwhile, Blutey was busy fitting a one piece glass to this Fastback -

That was the first smile we saw out of Blutey since he started the job  He is in no hurry to do another one piece glass.

Ron and Mark have spent a couple of weeks preparing Ron`s Mach 1 for the Concourse Judging. They were happy to load it onto the car trailer today. Great job guys! Car is superb -

Early night for us. Meeting up with 36 others at Tailem Bend at first light in the morning. Will post plenty of photos showing highlights of the trip and the action from the Nationals.
