Did you have any success with the Torque Converter?

Yes at last. Problem finally solved. :pepper:

I see the Grande has been having a few outings lately.
I keep bumping into Brad on cruises.
Damn, those streeter wheels really suit the car and colour.
Looks great.
I can smell oranges !

Hi Shane, Thankyou very much, we appreciate it.
We follow a very simple rule in both businesses - Do unto others as you would like them to do to you. :thumb:

Merry Christmas to you.

Hi Michael, Great to know that problem is behind you. I know how much you like cruising in your Mustang.

Makes me happy to see Brad and Fiona out cruising in the Grande. I just don`t get the opportunity to drive it much. Brad and Fiona know to come and get it whenever they like.

I really like the wheels, but being 17`s with low profile tyres the ride can be a bit bumpy - but it is worth it. :smile01:

Merry Christmas.

Re: Time for an update - Message for Reece
« Reply #1127 on: December 21, 2013, 09:27:22 pm »
Received an email from Reece asking about a car.

Reece, there are some warning signs in the Ad you directed us to.

1) Arrived in Australia 1997 but never been registered. Hmmm... Why?

2) Covered in layers of dust. Well.... If you wanted to sell a car wouldn`t you at least wash it? What are they trying to hide?

3) Ad states no rust in quarters or floors. What about the rest of the car?

Tread carefully with that car.

I would be checking out the red one with the white stripes..... Sounds genuine. Or the dark coloured one at Kala.....

Sometimes it is better to pay a bit more for a higher quality car. Most times they are cheaper in the long run.

Whatever car interests you, please make sure to check it over carefully - preferably with a very experienced Mustanger and absolutely insist on inspecting the undercarriage with the car up on a hoist.

Hope that helps.

Hi Valour22, Welcome to the Forum. :hi: You will find lots of great advice here.

As you search for your ideal Mustang, can I suggest you look for a car with the best body and paint you can find. Consider mechanicals as secondary. Engines and gearboxes are a whole lot cheaper than body and paint.

If somebody should suggest a car which "just needs a quick paint job " run a mile!

Also consider going along to a MOCA WA meeting. They are a friendly bunch of people who can give you some pointers.

Re: Time for an update -Preparing for Nationals
« Reply #1130 on: March 25, 2014, 07:08:27 pm »
Only 3 weeks before we head over to Geelong for the Nationals - Should be a blast.

We are taking a different approach this year. The boys have been flat out all year and so we have had no time to prepare our own cars. This is how the car factory looks on a regular basis now -

So rather than bust our guts for the next few weeks preparing cars for concourse, we will simply clean and polish the cars before heading over. Jeremy is taking his 65 Coupe, Brad will take his 95 GT and I will take the Grande. We are treating the Nationals as more of a holiday this year. Happy to note that Jeremy and Monique will also have their five children with them.

There will be some special cars heading over from Adelaide. Kym T is trailering his superb 64.5 Coupe over -

We have just finished building the 67 Burgundy Coupe which should be going for Registration early next week. New owner Neil is hoping to drive it over to Geelong -

Please be sure to check both cars out.

So who else is going to the Nationals and what car are you preparing for the trip? Post a photo of the car you are taking. If you do not know how to post photos - just email them to me at  imageclassics@outlook.com and I will be happy to post them for you.

Yep... Looking that way. We have a few options - Moniques 69 Vert was passed by Regency last week, or Jeremy`s 66 Fastback could do with a run. I was aghast yesterday when Michelle suggested we take the Territory. I said you do not take a Territory to a Mustang show! :toetapping: She may win out on that one

That will be a very nice looking rig - Brand spanking new Titanium Territory towing the freshly restored 64.5 Coupe. :thumb:

Hope you are leaving on the Wednesday morning. I will have the camera ready to take a few shots.

At this stage it is likely Michelle and I will be taking the Territory also.

Good news. Brad and Fiona have just gone to pick up the 95 GT from the Auto Trans specialist - all fixed. :smile01:

So Michelle and i will be taking the Grande after all.

Will take some photos this arvo showing a couple of completed projects - Jack`s Indian Fire Mach1 and the Burgundy 67 Coupe. Both cars are headed to Regency in the next couple of days.

Hi Tim, No worries. I may or may not be here, but i have let the boys in the factory know you are calling in. Just drive straight down to the car factory - they will make you welcome :thumb:

Brad`s 95 is back It is going well. Here it is -

The boys are currently debating whether to give it a quick respray before we go to the Nationals. Nothing like putting yourself under pressure

Jack`s Mach1 came in for a tidy up and preparation to get it through Regency for Registration Jack has been working on the car since the Newcastle Nationals. Car is very original -

The car has not been painted yet, in fact i hope Jack does not have it painted for a while. Really like the original ( although faded ) paint.

The Burgundy 67 Coupe is going to Regency tomorrow This car has come up looking very schmick -

More later.

Went for a walk to the car factory a few minutes back and this is what i saw -

With one week and one day left before we leave for the Nationals, the boys have decided to respray the 95GT. :smash: :ouch: :kickass: :omg:

Can we do it - Yes we can!! Who said life was meant to be easy? Who needs rest?

Thankfully there are no dents or rust to worry about so it should be pretty easy. The paint looked OK to me, but the boys were concerned that upon close inspection you could see a few different shades of red where different panels had been sprayed at different times in the past.

Wish us luck - we are going to need it!

Car looks great as is but that is only from the pictures I have seen, are they going to enter it?
Your guys can do it, you have a great team and they always manage to do everything within the time frames.  Will be a good break for them at the Nationals, dont forget to take plenty of photos for us armchair travellers

Hi Sally, This year our cars are just going in the Sunday Display - except for Ron`s 71 Mach1. Ron is very serious about improving his points score in Concourse. He and his son are giving the undercarriage of the Mach1 a serious detailing -

Here is Ron`s son cleaning the wheel wells -

Last year Ron lost 20 points for an incorrect Carburettor - a big Holley -

He has now replaced that with the correct Autolite 4300 (?) -

He will trailer the car to Geelong. Just hope it does not rain on the way over or we will all be climbing underneath to clean it again.

Yes... Keep watching this Thread during the Nationals ( sorry you and Chris are not coming ). I will post all the action  on the way over and during the Nationals.

Michelle said hi to you and Chris.

Another Overhaulin episode. I am sure you will get the paint done in time Rod, nothing like a bit of last minute action to make it all worthwhile in the end. Good luck to Ron as well, his car is looking brilliant.
