Re: Time for an update - Lou`s 65 Coupe
« Reply #1027 on: July 18, 2013, 09:29:36 pm »
Mark, that is great news - the wait is nearly over :thumb:

Lou is a Moca SA Member who recently purchased a 65 Coupe. The car is the classic 10 footer -looks really nice until you get up close. It has obviously had a Mexican resto and paint job. Here is the car -

It is really nice in the engine bay -

It also has an excellent interior, so the car does have some good qualities. Lou brought it over to have us sort out the body and make the car pristine.

There were quite a few tell tale signs that told us this was going to get messy once the paint came off -

This is where the bog in the bonnet has cracked - the bog was quite thick-

Oops - photobucket is playing up again - more later.

I told "J" I would post a pic of that vert once the Tan top was fitted.

Only got it back yesterday. There an awesome fit aswell. Not like the cheap looking plastic/vinyl tops. A good paint job on this one would look sensational

That Top certainly fits well Matt :thumb:

The Bumble Bee Camaro is now being painted

Body repairs on the Camaro are now completed and today Luke painted the undercarriage - in Yellow

He also painted the underside of the Cowl Panel -

The 69 Vert is just about ready for Registration -

The 68 Vert is also close -

Lou`s Coupe is waiting for new quarter panels -

Brad and Ron are busy fitting the fully recond 390 back into the 70 Mach1 -

So these are very busy times at Image.

Hi Barry, You are correct. I had the Mach1`s mixed up. Blue Mach1 has the 390 and Yellow Mach1 has the 428.

Brad fired up the 428 when the car came back from having the exhaust fitted to run in the cam. Sounded sweet.

Hi Joe...Yes, Jeremy is absolutely stoked with the Camaro, but it is going to take a while to get it back together. Here are the latest pics -

He had the front chassis powder coated, it came up a treat and now Brad is fitting all new suspension components before we bolt the front back on -

Hi Brett, good to see you last week. We were all recovering from a particularly nasty bout of the flu, so please excuse us if we did not talk much - we couldn't talk without coughing...yuk!

The workshop has been flat chat for ages. I have been a bit slack at posting for several reasons. We had 4 Mach1`s in the shop at once as well as several other stangs and it made me a bit nervous regarding security. Have also been having problems uploading photos to the new photobucket, but they have now sorted the upload problems.

The last of the Mach1`s left the shop last week. Check out this beauty -

Lou`s 65 coupe is now almost finished. Will upload more pics later to show progress. Also a new arrival -67 2Door Fairlane

....and soon a 70 Boss

Hi Mark, I hear it landed on our shores this afternoon. Ripper! Only question is how long will Customs and Aqis take to clear it? Hopefully not long! :smile01:

Well here is Lou`s coupe as it sat about 4 weeks ago -

New quarter panels and trunk drop offs have been fitted, the car painted and is now being put back together-

Luke painted the engine bay while brad painted and detailed the engine and gearbox, then refitted the drivetrain

Another new arrival today was Kim`s 64.5 coupe. Apparently he has owned this very tidy and original car for about 20 years. Paint is starting to look a bit tired so he has entrusted us to do the job -

Which brings me to the 67 Fairlane. Check this out -

The Fairlane has a 289 V8, C4 Auto. Jeremy finally has a car that he can put the 5 kids and his wife in for family outings. No need to take 2 cars anymore :thumb:

Nice work as usual Rocket, that '70 looks sweet.  :thumb:

Jeremy's Fairlane looks nice and shiny, did you do the polishing?

Good news on the Boss Mwizz, will you taking it to Geelong next Easter? Would love to see it in the flesh.

Hi MachAttack, The paint on the Fairlane was oxidised fairly bad. Luke spent 2 days solid giving it the old fashioned scuff and buff. Wet rubbed with 1500 grit then polished with cutting compound. Came up very well.

Jeremy and the lads did a fantastic job and we're really happy with the end result. :thumb:

Can't recommend you guys highly enough!!

Cheers,
