Hey Rod,  Dunno if Ron talked to you bout relays however today I put 75 watt beams and relay in my red car. Night driving is going to be heaps better. Jack  :burnout:

Hi Jack, Sounds good, those 75 watt lights should really make night driving a lot brighter. Have not spoken with Ron about them yet - been a whirlwind couple of days.

We did buy those Nissan Alloys. Brad and Fiona made a quick trip over to Shepparton to pick them up -

They are pretty well new. Came off a 2012 model that supposedly only had about 30klm on them. The new Patrol buyer had different wheels fitted before picking the car up. Tried one to see how they look -

We want to give the undercarriage a thorough clean next week before fitting the Alloys.

Spent the day cleaning the roof of the Patrol. We removed the light bar from the roof and were left with this -

After using a scourer and detergent, claying, wetrubbing with 2000 grit, then a 2stage buff, it ended up looking like this -

Much better! Jeremy managed to pick up some side steps for a good price on ebay today. Plan is to have Luke tidy up the body early next week, then clean and paint the undercarriage followed by fitting the side steps, some wheel arch flares and the alloys.

Ron`s Mach1 body is going to be sand blasted monday. Luke has already stripped the paint from the bonnet, guards and doors. Found a few minor repairs have been done over the years, but nothing to speak of.

Hi Mark, I think it will come up looking OK.

I wanted to go all out and paint it Winter Blue to match the Mach1, but Jeremy is not keen with only about 9 weeks to go before heading off to Perth. Too much other work on the go as well. Bugger!

Ron`s Mach1 body has gone down to have the undercarriage, engine bay and boot area sandblasted, so we spent the day on the Patrol repairs.

We decided to send the bullbar out to be powdercoated, which would give us the opportunity to clean the entire front of the Patrol -

Then while we had the tools out it was not much work for Brad to remove the rear bar and towbar as well -

While Luke was getting a start on the body repairs, he found that the door handles, rubbers etc are pretty easy to remove - so he took those off -

We got to thinking... Why just paint it White again? Winter Blue is a nice colour. Hmmm... What the heck. Most of the stuff we need off the body has already been taken off. So Winter Blue it will become.  Ripper!

What is Jeremy up to in this photo? -

That will look great in Winter Blue Rod. Can't wait to see it hooked up with the Mach 1 behind it.

Love that winter blue colour, will look fantastic when you have finished and no doubt will increase the value when it comes time to sell it

Hi Mark and Sally, It was either CandyApple Red or Winter Blue, but we think the blue is better suited to the Patrol.

Nobody picked up on the Mustang Bonnet Scoop that Jeremy was trying out on the bonnet. Considering fitting that and mach1 blackouts on the bonnet. Not sure.

Sally i don`t think we will sell the Patrol. They are an excellent tow vehicle. We have been using Jeremys Territory to tow the car trailer. It does the job well but probably not good for the long term.

Definitely not. As you said, they do the job well but not built to do it forever.

Mine is still sitting broken in the driveway, been about a month now.

Hi Ash, Is it still sitting because you are waiting on parts or have you just had a gutful of it at the moment?

I did see the scoop but thought Jeremy was having some fun with it. I must admit that the scoop and blackouts would look cool.

Hey Rocket,
It's sitting because Ford don't know what is wrong with it. Either do some auto elecs. I've swapped out every electrical component that has anything to do with the ignition and throttle system now except the wiring looms and ECU/BEM. I'm now trying to find another damaged Territory to buy to swap out parts with until it fixes the fault. At the moment, it's just an expensive unwanted paperweight.

The unsettling thing is, while I have been in and out of Ford with this, they had one of the new Territory's doing a very similar thing. It took a new ECU, a BEM(GEM I think they may be called now) and also a new cluster to fix it.

Hey Ash, I feel for you mate, nothing worse than intermittent electrical problems. Hope you can get it sorted  - somehow.

Well Ron`s Mach1 has returned from having the engine bay, floors and boot sandblasted. There were just a couple of surprises -

That is the extent of the rust. Not bad for an old car really. Just the battery apron and the rear floor pan. Easy fixes for both. Ron has already started to fit the battery apron-

Body sheetmetal had already been stripped with paint stripper and 80grit frecut. Only a couple of repairs required on one quarter panel -

Repairs have been completed on the Patrol. When I left work on Thursday Luke was about to paint the door jambs, inside of the rear doors  and top of the engine bay in Winter Blue -

We have been having trouble with bees at our place down the South East, so are down there at the moment rebuilding the bathroom walls which were destroyed by a combination of the bees and my attempts at using chemicals to get rid of them. Here is what I found after pulling down the gyprock -

What an effing mess!

Could not post earlier on this weekend - spilled a cup of coffee on the laptop and it is now shagged. Bugger! Made a trip to Mount Gambier today to purchase another. It has been an expensive weekend.

Did not recover any honey. it was a dry, brittle mess of honeycomb, chemicals and rotten timber.

As soon as I have a few hours...Im going to read this thread from beginning to end. J and myself were talking about it in Adelaide and I told him that I opened every page on my laptop so I could read it on the plane on the way to Oz.

As soon as this Eleanor is bolted back together...it has my undivided attention.
