Re the Shinex. You might have had bits drop off it BUT it is clean inside. Looks like the filters did their job. They were clogged. Clean now so will drop it off soon with another set of mach 1 emblems and (inserts?)

As Pinto Pete addressed his question to you I will let you answer him.

Hi Pinto Pete, Thanks - The car is looking better and better each day.

I am not sure if Jack`s engine is a Side or Top oiler, you will need to ask Jack. Which is it Jack?

Hi Mark, Luke is able to get a very good finish straight off the gun and i guess the booth helps. Luke will give the car an initial Buff with 3M compound, then i will hit it with the Flex and Menzerna polish. That paint is going to gleam. :thumb:

Hi Jack, Keep on smiling - It only gets better from here.

Thanks for cleaning out the Shinex. Those filters would not have been cleaned from new. Now i can do a comparison between both rotaries. Really getting the hang of the Flex rotary now. Keeping it around 1200 -1400RPM seems to be the key.

I have no idea if your 427 is a top or side oiler.

Hi Pinto Pete
The engine is I guess a center oiler.. It is actually a Dart Sportman 351 block stroked to 427 and built by Roush Performance.

Talking about engines, Brad has been busy cleaning, detailing and painting 3 engines.

First one is going into Jeremy`s coupe. A serious horsepower engine i am told -

This one is being fitted to the grande in a coupe of weeks. Rebuilt by Ron Hoffman, this 351W should have lots of grunt -

This next one is a 6 banger out of our 68 6 cylinder convertible. Drivetrain was removed in order to repaint the engine bay and Brad decided to give the engine his magic touch -

If these engines go as well as they look, we will be very happy campers.

Well done Brad! :thumb:

Hi Dale, checked with Brad. He bought the correct Ford Blue in pressure packs from Rod Kilvington at Dernancourt. 2x pressure packs were used to paint each engine, then he sprayed Clear over the top. The Clear he used is Protec Extra Flow Clearcoat Part No. PC-3900.

nice one Brumby, should go well, hard to get a good look but was hoping, drooling thinking about an FE.

Hi Pinto Pete
Thought the FE was the subject of your drooling.  Howsumever it is a H code car and an FE would be as alien as the Roush. Dollars decided.

Thinking on it ....If I had put in an FE I wouldnt have had to go through regency Therefore I wouldnt have been going to go down to get the exhaust quitened.  Therfore the bongo van wouldnt have run into me. Then I wouldnt have had the car cut up in a bodgie repair. I would still be insured with Shannons. I wouldnt have to pay to have the car repaired properly.  Lost out on the money side after all.
BUT........... the car is now looking magnificant

Hey Rod
When do we get the results of a Flex Shinex shootout?

Hi Jack, Maybe tomorrow, but not by me - too effin hot for me to do any buffing!

Luke has spent the day wet rubbing your car. He came to get the Shinex Rotary so that he can get stuck into buffing tomorrow. Might wait until he has done half the car, then swap the Shinex for the Flex Rotary when he is not looking. That way i can sit in the airconditioned office and wait for his report. :thumb:
