Hi Macka, Car is progressing well.

Luke has been busy massaging the full quarter into position. Not easy to line everything up, in fact we ended up fitting new bushings to the door hinges in an effort to line it all up properly. Made quite a difference! Here are some shots. Everything is now in place ready for welding -

New trunk drop off panel has already been fitted, welded and finished -

He has also removed the RHS quarter panel -

The old quarter had been repaired quite a few times. It was absolutely stuffed -

We are trying to have the body ready for top coats as soon as we move into our new premises. Spray Booth being installed in about 2 weeks, so should be spot on with the timing

Hi MachAttack, We have been extremely busy moving premises for the last few weeks and the Mach1 is no further advanced.

The Spray booth has been installed and is almost ready for use.

Luke should resume work on the car this week sometime, so i will post more photos as it progresses.

Macka, I will keep the photos and commentary going when we finally manage to get back to working on the car...... so many things to do in the meantime, but we are working through the list and busting our balls to get back to the cars:thud:

Dale, Come on over any time and check it out. The place is huge, but somehow we have managed to fill it. Next few weeks will be spent finding places to put things away. The Signwriter eventually turned up and installed our signs -

Think we are going to like it here for a few years. The security is so much better here too.

Hope you all have a great time on Sunday. Unfortunately Michelle and i have prior commitments and cannot make it, but we will catch up with you guys as soon as possible.

Well guys... By the time Xmas came around we were all absolutely stuffed. Moving factories during the busiest time of the year put the pressure on everybody. But we got the job done.

Started off the New Year at work with a mini Mustang Display -

Car Hoist has been installed. Here is Ron from the Mustang Club doing a bit of work on his 72 Mach1 to get it ready for rego -

Then we needed to use the Hoist to finish off Jeremy`s 66 Fastback which is going down for rego on Monday -

Both spray booths are now operational. One is an open front which is used to paint our wardrobe door panels -

We have waited a long time to get this booth -

The red Mach1 will be the first car we paint and bake in there. YES... We are finally working on it again. Luke has finished welding on the rear quarter panels -

He even had to work the new bonnet -

We hope to have the car in putty next week some time.

In other news - Jeremy has just arrived home from a quick trip to Melbourne to bring back the Focus Diesel Turbo he has just bought for his daughter who turns 16 in a couple of months -

We are very happy with the car. It achieved fuel economy of 5.1 Litres per 100klm on the trip Home.:yellowpepper:

My son Bradley is very involved in the Mustang Restoration side of the family business. He fits the suspension, steering and mechanicals, as well as sourcing parts. So it was only fitting that we used a couple of the Mustangs in his wedding on Saturday -

Brad is one very fortunate person. His new wife Fiona is a beautiful woman in every respect. Well done Brad!

Monday and we are back into working mode. The body repairs are now finished on the red Mach1, so it was into the spray booth to paint the undercarriage.

After taping the car up, Luke first sprayed Super Etch onto the primed and sanded undercarriage -

Then after allowing it to dry for a couple of hours, on with the colour -

He then baked the colour in the booth. Tomorrow he will paint the red inside the car.

We are working to a schedule with the car now, so in the meantime Jeremy is busy checking all bolt on items in an attempt to get the car reassembled in the quickest possible time.

That Acapulco Blue 69 is HOT!!!

My mind might live permanently in the gutter, but I'd be changing the plates on the Focus if that was for my daughter (WAG 469). Sorry, but I had to laugh.

Thanks for all the well wishes and congrats. Will pass it on to Brad and Fiona.

Dale, The red Fastback was registered last week. The new airconditioner for it has arrived and will be fitted over the next week. Jeremy will  get a lot of use of the fastback then.

boss69hog,  The blue mach1 has come up a treat. Thanks. Must admit i had a laugh at the WAG plates on the Focus too. Those Victorian Yarra Yabbies come up with some funny plates.:smile01:

New South Australian registration and plates are on the way.

Michael, Those wheels look superb. Can`t wait to see them on your Mustang.

Sally and Chris, Come on over anytime. We are enjoying your Thread about your Mustang. Any updates yet?

Luke is absolutely steaming ahead with the Red Mach1. All that preparation work is now paying off. Floor of the car is now painted -

Inside the boot is looking good too -

He has finished the Matt Black in the engine bay-

We are extremely impressed with Lukes work. He even painted the inside of the cowell panel and the front and rear stone pans -

Ron is also getting into the swing of things. Here he is wet rubbing the headlight buckets -

We do have a slight hold up. When Luke began removing the paint from the passengers door, he found that it had been bogged up once too often. The door is toast.
We ordered a new one from interstate but it was no bloody good - bent in fact - upon arrival. Supplier wants to argue about it! Not good business sense IMO!! We ordered a second door from another supplier - our good friend Steve Lond at Mustangs of Melbourne. Steve always looks after us.
Here is the old door -

Luke wants to wait for the new door to arrive before painting the body of the car as he wants it fitted on the car when painting.

The car is back in his work area for blocking back. Should be painted one day next week.
