Hey all, I'm looking to buy my first Mustang, so forgive my newby questions.
I'm keen on a manual, but there's more autos out there. Which has the better resale value? (likely buying a left hand drive)
Also, what's the procedure to get a road worthy certificate in NSW?

Typically a 4-spd manual trans car is about 10% greater value than a similar 3-spd auto car...

From long experience with LHD and RHD, before buying carefully evaluate how it is to be used - eg every day or weekend cruiser, busy suburban or less congested roads, if LHD would partner be OK with no controls their side ?. Then go with what you really want tempered with what's practical for your situation. With resale value, manual or auto usually appreciates over time at a similar rate. RWC for classics in NSW can have expensive pitfalls. Before buying, talk over your preferred choice with a local RWC tester who will know the ropes.

No idea about resale values but for fun factor and noticability, left hook and three pedals is the way to go.

As ragtop said! My wife will not travel in my LHD Mustang! Traffic in Sydney manual cars a pain!
IMO, New cars definitely auto.
Autos brain is far superior to the humans brain to feet to hand co-ordination.
Autos far superior than those of the past, hold back on downhills great help to brakes.

I'd say simply buy the best car you can find regardless of the gearing. Then, if there's an apples with apples comparison available with a LHD and you and/or the missus aren't accustomed to stick changes with your right hand, go with an auto = so much easier. And, probably safer driving it in Oz i.e. less things to think about with all the other distractions.
As a comparison, I drive my daily RHD with stick and the mustang (LHD) is auto. Far less likely chance of a mistake, which in an old car could equal severe injury/death.
One thing to consider - if the car has all around disc brakes or drums - mine has drums = you wanna stop? Okay, get ready BEFORE you think about stopping! :lol:
