When sending large payments overseas (ie buying a car), always confirm payment and bank account details a couple of ways. If you're spending that much money, make the phone call to confirm the account details are correct.
Just read about a poor guy buying a car from the US, and looks like the dealers email server was compromised. He was directed to send the payment to another bank account and the money may now be gone.
My business imports, and we regularly get people trying to hack our systems and our suppliers systems, so please be very careful.
Out of the 20+ bank account change requests we've received from our suppliers in the past 8mths, only one has been genuine.
