Hi guys,
I thought it was time to properly introduce myself. Name is Charlie, recently bought a 65 Fastback. I found out the car was listed for sale here as well after I bought it.
The car came from Brisbane, previous owner put alot of time and effort into a full restoration. It is a beautiful car and a joy to drive.
I have always loved my Mustangs so it is good to finally get into one.
I already have had it blue slipped and registered in NSW. Put some personalised plates on it, added a Custom Autosound USA-66 stereo, and some security stuff.
Don't want to touch it other than that, love the look of the classic old school wheels. The engine is a 289 with extractors and 4 barrell carby. Other than that the car is stock with a classic 3 speed manual, and LHD.
She doesn't have a name yet. :)

Thanks guys, definitely going to come to some meets. I was hoping to be able to make the Kellyville on Sunday morning. Saturday night might be hard but i'll see what I can do. Are these mystery cruises normally an all night thing?
-
welcome Charlie , looks like a nice ride hope you get plenty of enjoyable driving miles out of it .
Question though and this not just for you , why is it that we make them female and give em a name ? i am not being a s arse or anything. i just always wondered why we do it .

Depends where the cruise destination ends up. If you tag along it will be an all nighter around 10pm.
What area you from?

Not at all, you can drop out any time, some people just turn up early for the round up at the car park, have a bit of a chat then go home, lol.

No idea mate, I mentioned it because I was expecting people to ask what I named her. I think it may have to do with the fact that we treat our cars better than we treat our women, some people call them our mistress.

I am from the West, not far from Big Al's (sorry if I am a little vague, I am always cautious about posting too much info on the net).

Thanks Stephen, that might sound like a better option for me, I did have something on Saturday night but would be nice to come for the round up and then leave when everyone heads off for the cruise.
Hopefully I can make either Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Great pick up, the guy I purchased the car off actually called the colour sapphire blue. He always loved the Shelby Sapphire Blue colour and when he painted the car that's what he was going for but he didn't get it quite right, but it is close.
-
Sapphire Blue (medium blue metallic) was a standard 66 Ford Thunderbird colour (paint code G) used by Shelby. The colour was also a special order colour for 66 Mustangs.

That's a sweet ride charliekay , you must have a couple of bags of concrete in the trunk to get it that low. I have 2in reverse eye leaf springs with a 1in lowering blocks kit and its not even close to that. Wish I lived in Sydney to go to all your meets. Not much near Ulladulla.

Been a while since I posted here. Car has had some wheel and suspension changes recently. Took her out on the weekend and got some pics of her finished.
17x7 Rev Wheels all around. 235/45 rear and 225/45 front.
Needed to roll the guards at the rear, very minor rubbing on compression. Fronts rub but only at full hook at a decent speed, so don't need to roll them.
