Happy to have a chat about our rego 'officers' and the cars generally.  Drop me a PM with your contact details.
Cheers

hey, :fantastic: welcome to town

looks like tommo came in handy again.

rego was alright, just the usual,
lights,
brakes work to required level,
engine number ( you may need them to issue it)
decent tires, (mine were not so decent but had tread so they passed)
noise
good detail underneath and engine bay, so no visable oil leaks
thats about it

then its on to the monthly cruises :burnout:

Cheers all...Tommo and I picked it up from Sydney on the day before Good Friday.

What about:

- seatbelts?
- headlights pointing the right way?
- speedo in miles per hour?

Can they issue an engine number on the spot? Presumably I need to purchase a permit to drive it unregistered to Dickson?

Will be interested to see how you go Carl as I have one which should be here in about 3 weeks. The only thing Rego could/would not give me a straight answer on was the colour of the rear blinkers.

Moe-I'm North side too. Might have to head to Mitchell to talk to Mark. What do I need the import papers for?

I purhcased one of those LED kits for the rear which now means I have an amber indicator so hopefully that will ease any pain.

here are some older pics of the car when it was in the US. I owned if for 12 months whilst I lived there.

-Seat belts will need to be in reasonable condition.

-headlights: if it has been registered in Aust previously, this should not be an issue.  Otherwsie, grab a set of H4's and install them, leaving off the outer ring - they usually adust them for you.

-Import papers will be necessary so they can confirm the engine/VIN is the same on the car as that approved for import.  You will need them at the next step- payment and plates- in any case.

Nice looking car and in the right colour!

Nice car, rego wasn't the drama i thought it would be. seat belts had to have tags and be in good condition and definitely an H4 conversion. apart from that, just the usual stuff, mine failed the first time on a brake imbalance at the back.
Mark at capital classics hold pretty much everything you need. As for the engine number, just stamp the last 6 digits of the vin on the block, OOpps did I really say that!!!??
