2017 Audio
« on: November 17, 2018, 05:27:46 pm »
Just popped into my dealership to grab a (free) coffee and look at the Bullitt - it's nice but I'm very happy with my 2017.

However, I did pop the boot and spotted a subwoofer - I knew the 2017 was missing something...................

Anyone fitted a sub. to their 2017, after market upgrade to their audio ?

Do we need a new heading for audio upgrades ?

I'd be really interested to know what's involved in adding a sub. to the 2017 (GT) - the audio really is missing something.

I’ve changed the speakers in mine but the bass lacks any punch you get from a sub.
Still worth the change just to improve the sound from the crap speakers that come with the car.
Factory sub woofer install apparently isn’t simple as head unit isn’t wired for it.
Can be done but needs some expert attention to do.

the wiring is actually all there, its just that the factory amp isn't programmed for it, so if you buy the factory sub from the states you still need ford to program the head/amp
friend did this on his car, dealer charged him $400 just to enable it

Also fitting an aftermarket sub is a pain, there are all sorts of feedback/earth loops in these cars.
check the US forum there are a few audio threads about it.
none of the options are cheap

That’s frustrating I was just about to hook into a sub install.
