Title: '68 fastback, genuine survivor car.
Post by: BossKraft on November 20, 2012, 06:47:40 pm
Hi all,

I just located this beautiful 27k mile survivor '68 fastback and grabbed it, from the 95 yr old original owner. 100% original paint and interior. Car had been sitting quite a few years since they stopped driving it. With basic checks, some gas and a battery, it fired right up and idled smoothly. This car has it's original plugs, leads, fan belt etc. I have cleaned it up and it looks and drives great. I have more than enough cars, so this one is on the list to go.

Contact me for further info. $40k or make me a sensible offer.

Cheers.

I didn't end up needing to invest anywhere near the time into the car that I thought, so I have adjusted the price to suit. Original unmolested cars like this do not come up often at all, especially in desirable colours and options.

Yes, probably 18 month's.  It wont be going down in price,  either.  Ive been buying Mustangs a long time and never come across them this nice, original and low mileage.  I have had several buyers, though,  who I chose not to sell to, as they just didn't get maintaining, or owning a survivor car. I will not sell it to someone wanting to paint,  mess with,  or otherwise modify it. One owner, 27k mile cars are few and far between. It'll sit in Kevin Marti's museum until I sell it, or choose to import it. He appreciates it, as I do.

Best place for it Bud....  people (well most) don't get the whole originality thing...  if it was a 66 you know what collection it would be in..........

keep it and enjoy it whether it sits and does nothing or gets driven you will always score more points from me.

remember its only original once.  end of story

regards.

PHILL BERESFORD.

Agree with you there,  Phill. Seems the GT Falcon guys here understand,  but the Mustang movement isn't there yet. I'm not offering it for sale for $, so yep, it looks great in Kevin's museum holding his 4 post lift up! If I ever have the room in my garage I'll import it then.

There is a different approach, in my view, to being the caretaker of a car that the original owner looked after for 30+ years.

Look at the 'grief' I get for wanting to keep the red original and not re-painted :thud:

Good on you Sean for sticking to your guns. They are only original once, and having the history from day 1 is priceless.
