Hi there, so my 1st time here. I have a 66 K Code fastback and have started a tidy up of the engine bay. My question is simply this, what is the correct original black paint type for the engine bay. It seems to be a satin finish but some small areas that are matt finish. Any advise welcome. Thanks Greg

Black 2 pack with flat clear will give it the correct look.

All 1966 and up ford engines are painted corporate blue , 64-65 engines are painted black......... p.s do you have your hipo in the registry ????

my apologies, your question is about the engine bay, not the engine :ouch:

If your going for the Concours look and already have the factory paints within the engine bay, you'll need to replicate these.
Also the engine color is Ford Chassis black.

64.5-65 engine block colour is black, however the rocker covers & air cleaner are different depending on the engine size.
