im about to get my auto looked at, so just wondering what the differance in shift kits are.
stage 1, stage 2, stage 3 and fully manulised.
its a c4 a behind a 220rwkw mustang

Stage 1 shifts a bit firmer, good for towing, RV's or mild driving etc. Stage 2 is a lot firmer, while stage 3 is either bite your tongue hard, or won't shift by itself at all.
Keep in mind, "Stage 1-2-3" is only a marketing name, like Stage 1-2-3 cams, or 1/4, 1/2 or full race cams. none of it is transferable to other kits. You're better off looking on the B&M site and seeing if you can find any relevant info there. Or Transgo is another big company. We stock the B&M kits here.

means you have to move the tbar shifter to change gears urself. takes awhile to get used to cos if you leave it in 3rd it dosent go back to 1st by itself when you stop. works even better with a rachet shifter :burnout: :thumb:

Early C4 auto's (some '65 & '66) have to have a later model ('67 on) valve body in them to be able to have a shift kit fitted. Mine has a Transgo kit in it (stage 2) comes with all instructions, easy to fit. B & M Deep Pan part #50281. Better than standard pans. www.bmracing.com.  Also has a TEC 2500 Hi-stall Convertor. VERY positive gear changes & works well as a manual too. Got the TEC Convertor info from BLKPNY -- highly reccommended.:thumb:
