Post by: Bashfull on May 08, 2006, 07:40:19 pm
i read all the time about edelbrock dual plane manifolds.

i currently have a cast iron special..with a 600 vac secondary holley on top...
is an alloy worht the hassle...
or is it worth putting that money towards other mods

If your manifold is the stock low performance piece, I would swap it. If yours is a performance type iron manifold (I don't know if there was one for your engine, as you havn't mentioned what engine you have) it may not be such a big difference.
You will slightly improve weight distribution, with less weight over the nose of the car, you will get a cooler inlet charge (better power and economy) with the alloy manifold, and more power due to better design.
They are usually cheap to buy in good condition seconhand, so I don't know why everyone doesn't have one, or better.

Without any other mods, I think for money spent v's output gained, the changes will be minimal.

Wait until you change your dizzy, cam, heads or modify your old ones etc.

Bang for buck........... change you diff ratio.:(

I still think it will be the best $200 spent.
