Title: Brake proportioning valve
Post by: bawcc on August 11, 2021, 05:26:45 pm
Hi

I have fitted a front disc upgrade kit to my 65 Coupe but not 100% sure how to plumb in the proportioning valve as there are no instructions so I am assuming it is put in line to the rear drums?

Any ideas or diagram please ?

Cheers
Brett

Yes, you need it on the rear circuit as that's where you need to control the pressure as there's less weight on the back and with equal pressure front and rear the rears lock up too easily.

I don't have a diagram but this website is worth a read.

Hi Brett,

These are the proportioning valve plumbing instructions I received with my SSBC Brake conversion kit for my 65FB.
Hopefully they are helpful - take note on whether you have a distribution valve installed or not.

Cheers
Rory
