Title: Water Leaks From Under Wheel Arches
Post by: Peter Delaney on September 02, 2022, 05:49:41 pm
I have a 2018 FN GT, and have a problem with water gradually dripping onto the garage floor after driving on wet roads.  I can leave the car out on the driveway on rainy days & have no problem - it is only when driven on wet roads that water is flung around the inner guards & seems to accumulate in voids behind the inner guards, then slowly drips out.  Most pronounced is the rear guards - I have measured 250ml of water dripping from both the front & back of the inner guards !

Has anyone else had this problem, & if so, found a fix for it ?

Kind Regards,
Peter

Hey Peter,
My wife has the same problem with her Mazda.

I find a mop is very handy!

Sorry, I couldn’t help it!

Hahaha.

Cheers Phil.

Hi Phil - Yep, a mop is the only solution - other than just leaving the car out in the driveway until it has finished dripping !

It's a good thing that I am not one of those wealthy enthusiasts who park their toys in a carpeted garage !!

Mind you, I find it a bit strange that I can't find any reference to this problem on the web.  How can I be the only owner who has this problem at the front & back of all wheel arches ??

One of life's little mysteries :)

Kind Regards,

Peter.

Hey Peter,
My garage floor is painted but to stop slipping on a glossy surface I added dulux anti slip (fine glass), probably to much!
It’s a pain because it doesn’t mop up very well and is stained.

Hope you find an answer!

Cheers Phil.
