Title: Spare Wheel for 69 Fastback
Post by: Gregh on September 23, 2022, 02:48:31 pm
While driving home from Linwood Hose Show day the other weekend, I noticed 2 cars (not Mustangs) on the side of the road with flat tyres being fixed. I took it as an Omen that I really should get myself a spare for the boot of my 69 Mach 1.
Looked on line for any in Aust with no luck of course - So does anyone in the Club have one that they'd be willing to sell or know where I could get one without needing to import from the US
Cheers Greg

Too easy . Any falcon 1967 XR to 1972 XA will fit . 1973XB to 1997 EL will still fit but the Center hole is a little larger ,so fine for a spare no problems . AU on has the wrong offset .

Just to add to that ,if you want a 15 inch wheel EL falcons had a 15 inch as well as 14 inch .

Interesting topic in relation to the comment of Centre hole oversized not being a problem.
I thought that was supports the load and not the studs.

Yeah, I thought that too.
Could someone clear this up, I did have an 'incident' with a borrowed box trailer where the studs fitted nicely, but the hole was slightly large and ended with the wheel wobbling quite badly.

As a spare wheel  only it’s really no a problem . Just go to a wheel shop and buy a ring that sits on the hub or axle . Or buy a pre 72/73 falcon wheel / rim
