My 66 steering feels real loose. Have heard it could be things such as the power steering control valve, and rag joint. From what I can see it doesn't have a rag joint, could be wrong.
Any experience from someone else?

You have to check it with the motor running. The ball stud needs the pressure to close the gap. Assuming you are checking it off the ground and moving it side to side?

Haven't checked anything yet. I am about to order a new hose from the control valve to the rack. Was considering buy a kit for the control valve at the same time. Just doing some research prior.

Make sue the kit you buy has everything in it. The bronze bush is missing from most kits, and the ferrules for the hoses into the valve are pretty much never supplied with the kit.
Ask me how I know this :(

Nuts in Canberra rebuilds power Mustang power steering if you need something rebuilt. He's on the Mustangtech forum. - https://www.mustangtech.com.au/
