What's this part called?
« on: June 15, 2015, 09:35:35 am »
G'day

I have a question about the panel/sheet-metal in the front end of my '65 Fastback project.

What is the panel called behind the headlight? (not the bucket, I know about that bit). When I pulled the grille and surround off, headlight out, there is another piece behind the headlight bucket on the battery side, which has rusted a little.

I'm wondering if it's sold as part of the rhf fender, or can you get it separately? It's spot-welded to the front edge of the fender.

I feel like a goose for not knowing what it's called, but all the google/ebay/CJ Pony Parts searching has not turned up anything.

Thanks if you can help.

I think you will find its part of the fender, you can drill the spot welds to replace it, if you have an old rusty guard laying around, otherwise you either need to cut and patch the rust, or replace with a new guard, to my knowledge, you cannot buy that piece separately, it's part of the guard.
