Title: Tyre sizes
Post by: blackbox on October 23, 2013, 06:54:37 pm
Hi All,
I just bought some 17x8 wheels with 4.75" backspacing for my 65 coupe.
The seller tells me with my rolled guards I could get away with 225 45 17 on the front and 245 45 17 on the rear, but someone else told me I could go to 255 on the rear.
Anyone done this? My car had reverse eye springs on the rear and sits about 2-3 inches below standard and as I said, has rolled guards.
Thanks Guys.

You've posted this in the wrong section - you might want to post it into the early mustang questions section...

Hi Blackbox,

I have 17x8/255/40 on the rear of my 66 fastback, rolled inner lip. Looks and fits good. Not too sure about the back spacing of the rim though??

Regards,

David

I have 235/45x17s on the back of mine, no rolled guards. fronts should be 215/45x17s. Mine sits low too.

As you can see, not a lot of room and I have the same back spacing.
