Hi guys,

Probably been spoken about many times , but I would like advice for the best spark plugs for my 347.
The engine has AFR 185 heads , with close to 11:1 compression.
Currently I am running Champion RC10YX4 plugs which were recommended to me ???, but I would like to try something else?
I have searched some previous discussions and it looks like NGK are the go.
Which NGK's should I go for?
The car only gets driven once a week and I go to the drags and lakeside track meets on occasion.

Do a cross reference , BKR5E-11 . I would go a BKR6 E then re gap them to what you want .msd ?

BKR6E is what I was thinking also.
Yes, I do have MSD ignition.
Should I gap them at 0.040” ?

Not to insult your intelligence, but the dash number after the plug number is the gap in mm. So if you are going to buy them and gap them to 0.040, just get the BKR6E-11, which are 1.1mm gap, or 0.043"

Yes start with the dash 11 plugs and gap them to 45 and see what happens .. The higher comp ratio the smaller plug gap you go .  MSD say about 45-55 tho for over 10.5 and higher for lower comp engines . Look up MSD plug caps to make sure I'm correct .  Without a dyno who knows what's going on .

 Hey Gents, understand this thread is not mine and a bit cold but the subject is relevant to my question,
 My build seems very similar to "Coupe66's" and I also am on the hunt for alternative plugs,  My AFR spec sheet suggests Autolite #3924 which have a multitude of NGK Comparatives,  BKR6E-11   BKR5EVX (platinum)   BKR5EIX (Iridium)   Now the Iridium plugs are about 4 times the price, but last alot longer, ( which is good for the guys with big hands and small patience)  But for the average cruiser are they worth the expense, As always keen for anyones thoughts.., Andrew.
