Title: Tilt away steering
Post by: P8TRIOT on December 30, 2013, 09:00:31 pm
Just tidying up some loose ends with the wiring on the tilt away steer.I reckon ive got it pretty much sussed but there is one wire from the vac solenoid which i'm not to sure about, its the green with orange stripe and runs with the yellow, pictured here. Also i have two holes for two door jamb switches on the drivers side,L/H..one for courtesy lights and one for the Tilt Steering column. The thing is, the lower hole is slightly bigger and the switch can fit through just wondering why this is...Thanks

Schematic shows it going from accessory terminal on ignition switch to a 7.5 amp fuse, then to a 3 wire connector with green/yellow, yellow/black and green/orange.

Good reference doc:

The two switches are identical on my car and it makes sense that it's wired through the ignition, because nothing happens until both the ignition is turned off and the drivers door is opened.
