i have a 2016 mustang ecco boost.i recently had a lot of warnings come up and then they disapearred, ford told me this is usually a battery problem,so i got racv to change battery.no more warnings but when installer checked voltage across battery it was 14.9v and said it will sort itself out ,well he went away and i drove it for about half an hour the voltage on the screen kept fluctuating from 12.5 to 14.9 i wounder if thats what he meant ,but will it eventually stabilize and how long does it take.

please can you help

The normal voltage needs to be about 13.8 to 14.2 volts to run all the 12 volt electrics plus charge the battery back to full strength for your next startup cranking.  14.9 volts is a bit high (and could actually damage the new battery), but if the RACV guy wasn't concerned I wouldn't worry.

See http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2010/01/how-to-test-a-car-alternator/ or https://cartreatments.com/bad-voltage-regulator-symptoms-replacement-cost/if you want to learn more

I would say that the fluctuation during driving of 12.5 volts to 14.9 volts is normal fluctuation depending on the load on the alternator from other current drawing devices etc. So wouldn't worry.
