If the weather is good tomorrow i might start sanding the smaller pannels like head light surounds, boot lid and bonnet.. So my question is after i sand then back to metal do i wipe them down with prep was and then etch primer or is there a better way?
-
With mine, I sent out all the panels & had them dipped/paint stripped. This was a massive time saver & cheap as chips! I then coated all the bare metal in an excellent 2 pack Epoxy which is highly resistant to corrosion (Dupont Nason Ful-Poxy). Once coated, you've got plenty of time to do the repairs. I believe that etch primer won't last long if left uncoated. All the filler work will be done over the epoxy & then resealed with another coat.
I got this advice from a professional painter that's helping me with my car. He really knows his stuff!

I want to know where in Australia is having good weather tomorrow??

The weather's fine in my garage. I'll be spraying polyester on the last of the repairs. Too excited to let a little rain bother me!

You'll probably find it's cheaper to buy the correct springs from someone like Capital Classics that to try and find some falcon ones with the correct length and rate.

Cool thanks.. Will google them.. Think there is a place called eastcoast mustangs in lilydale.. Went there a few years ago to get a dash pad and tail shaft for my father in laws blue 66 coupe..

Steve at Mustangs of Melbourne in Kilsyth might be worth trying as well.
-
Thanks.. Will ring them on Monday and see what they have..

Just take them to a spring works, get the reset with and extra leave, won't cost much

I would take them to get reset but they were left out side for a while over winter and there all pitted and shagged now.. Will get a pic of them tomorrow
