Just after some advice on shipping insurance.
Schumacher have sent me this info and im not sure which to select.

Is it worthwhile paying the higher % for a smaller deuctable? The only rational i see behind this would be to cover any small damage (scratchs, dents etc) where the cost of repair <$1000.

Shermatt uses these guys so i assume they are very professional and take care with loading etc.

I went with the $500 excess one. It also depends on the condition of the car and the price you want to insure it for. My has a brand new respray so I want to make sure my excess isn't too high incase it get's damaged. Ignore the first one, it doesn't cover any damage just total loss.

If you insure your car for say $25,000

$500 excess costs you a premium of $562.50 at 2.25%
$1000 excess costs you a premium of $500.00 at 2.00%

Only an extra $60 gets you $500 less excess. That is why I went that way

Yeah its a bit differnt the way its worded, to Aus insurance.
I personal went for the $1000 excess.
The paint is nice, but not new so it might need some minor touch ups.
If it gets afew more, that something I can sort out. But $1000 worth of damage thats problably out of my paint skill level.

Save yourself the headaches and get it done in Australia!

From memory it was $350 with $500 excess for 35K insurance, and at least if you have to claim you are dealing under Australia laws and legislation!

My broker  - Elders Insurance - Totally flexible, just need to email the photos of the car before it was loaded, changed the delivery dates a couple of times and it wasnt a problem
