Hi everyone, I am having trouble removing my antenna off my 69, is there any trick to this, do I need to remove the inner guard?

i am pretty sure there is either a clip or a nut holding the antenna in place. which is only accessable behind the panel.

well at least thats what i found with my 68.

It depends on the Antena & where its located on the guard. You will most likely need to remove the splashtray & then you should be able to access the nut. They are often siezed so give it a hit with inox or wd40. Also the inner shaft can spin with the nut, if that happens its time to break out the grinder.

Rectangular base antenna would be on them standard. The base (stainless steel) unclips & you can slide it up the mast. Then you will see 4 phillips headed screws holding the base down.
