The back window is a bit too flat, so the right color will be the challenge. I reckon a two tone interior with a matching duco/stripe would look awesome (like the current generation in your profile pic)

Has anyone mentioned Bundy Bear mud flaps? And we need a good set of spot lights to get us home from the BnS.

Nice pics ev - looks like a XK-XP roof;  Fuel tank fillerhas been relocated to the same spot as the falcon utes as well;  not a bad conversion, although I'm not convinced on the rear end treatment

I'd put an XA-XB-XC GT pop open cap on it, just to be different, but still Ford.

Just bumping this for Matt to take a look at, there was some of these produced as a Beverly Hills Mustero. That ugly duckling may turn out to be a swan, so best do some homework before you get the torch out.

I'll echo the comments that it needs a vertical rear window to give it an authentic "factory" look. Nothing would look more bodgied up than a normal rear screen moved forward. Check out Falcon models around the XP or XR to get ideas about how an Aussie factory Ford ute of that era should be re the rear screen profile

Yeah, we know. Using your XA-XC utes as an example, maybe I can show it better than I can say it...

If you notice, Matts car is already built, I'm doubting that he is going to make new rear pillars for it, and it has a thinned rear pillar anyway, not like the picture of the ute with a full coupe rear pillar.

I like the way its set up at the moment...looks elcamino style

I had NO CHOICE but to use a different transport mob other than our guy and the stupid F0cker ripped the fu6king radiator clean out the bas7ard with his chains and damaged the lower support...I hate using transporters I dont know but it was the ONLY bugger crazy enough to pick it up as its located SMACK in the middle of "the murder capital of the USA"

He may of survived Jersey but if hes trashed that front end.....hes not gonna have much luck getting out of Florida

was over 1000 calls and a day on the phone to organise that pick up......I should of just waited an extra 4 days and my guy could of picked it up without any problems

Oh well, gotta be stripped down anyway

should be here on sat/sun so I will get Romeo to access the damage when it gets there and he can give me a bell

If any bodywork was to be done, I'd lengthen the rear 1/4's.

Yeah, that'd be cool. A proper working tailgate would be brilliant, but I imagine that would be a mountain of trouble to accomplish.

Hey Matt,

Got an idea for the back of the Ute.:a:a

I reckon you could mount a deck chair and beach umbrella and an esky (full of Forex or even better my personal choice of amber fluid Corona’s!) and also strap a couple of bright yellow surf rescue boards on each side and sell it to the Gold Coast Surf Life Savers as a new rescue resuscitation vehicle - I’m sure the Gold Coast mayor (Ron Clark) would go for it??
