Fatkids garage SALE
« on: November 16, 2009, 01:39:47 am »
Well looks like after having a sleep on it, Im gonna go down the avenue of buyin this 2010 shelby

but in order to do this I need to dump some of my toys

I currently have a 56 chevy pickup sitting in Texas that Yimmy the tulip has been slowly working on for me. As far as I know the 2 little bits of rust has been cut out of it and its all in primer. The rear tray needs new wood putting in it and paint....the interior hasnt been touched yet.

I was planning on getting it here to paint and do the interior and throwing in a new front window once it was painted. Yimmy was meant to deliver it this weekend but its probably better to leave it in Texas as its cheaper to transport to LA from there.

This picture below is one that recently sold for $28,000USD with the same engine trans combo

$6200usd includes transport to the shipper in LA.

Really didnt want to sell this truck but ya gotta do what ya gotta do

Next one on the chopping block is a 1966 fastback C code project with no engine.

Has the fold down back seat and complete interior (all in need of resto). Body is solid but the roof needs some attention. Floor pans have been cut out by the previous owner and a new set tack welded in. Will throw in 2 C4s, a new set of boot pans, a gt head light set up (2nd hand) a full set of original mustang mag wheels, a spare diff, along with a tonne of other 2nd hand parts that are NOT for this car but will keep you busy on ebay for some time. (make the purchase worthwhile for you in other words)

Parts loaded will include hood hinges, brake components, dash pads, tail shafts, valances, front and rear bumpers. What ever I can find that you may think is irrelevant but I get asked for ALL THE TIME that you can flog off to help with your restoration. This was going to be my next clone or something....been sitting out back for close to 2 years waiting for to get to it

$7000usd delivered to the shipper in LA

Next is my hush project. Its a numbers matching 1964 D code cali coupe. 289 4 speed. Totaly dissasembled, bead blasted and in red oxide primer. I paid $4000 bucks for and is still in storage. Will try and get some pics soon

Then theres a 1968 "S" code convertible. Now if youve been looking for one of these, you know how hard they are to find. think there was only 220 ever made but dont hold me to that. 390 V8 C6 auto. Paid $14000usd and is currently on the rotisary. This was going to be my driver car when I visited Adelaide

Still debating about the 67 Galaxie with the 428.....thats just to RARE to dump...but may have too

And finally the fatkids clone...god knows how much I got in it but make me an offer...allready has an import approval for Oz
Will get the arse end on the ground today and throw the mags on and get some pics

heres a pic of the donk

Talk to me fellas, anything here interest ya?

Had a lot of interest in the 68 S code convertible so rather than keep sending emails I thought I would put my 2 cents in on the car, its history and what it would take to complete

The car has been in the same workshop now for 20 years

I bought it off a guy that bought the car partially restored (freshened up)
and painted some 20 years ago. The car had a small piece of rust in the
drivers side back floor pan that was missed in the restoration so he drove
it from Ft Lauderdale to a crash shop here in Tampa and said he wanted a
full restoration started on it.

The car is totally stripped down and is currently on a rotisserie (still
painted in red) on its side so the floor is facing you as you look at it,
that's how I bought it....never seen it side on but you can see the car is
SOLID.

The floor section behind the driver seat has been cut out allready and most
of the floor pan is stripped down but my intentions was to get the under
chassis and and front end soda blasted and painted before re
assembly....along with the repair to the floor.

There was nothing wrong with the drive train but I was going to run a new
set of rings through the engine and freshen it up a little before bolting it
all back into the car.

Nothing really wrong with the body but it has a new FORD NOS bonnet, front
guards and boot lid. The guy also bought brand new upper and lower control
arms to begin rebuilding the front end and a new convertible top.

The car would require re assembly in order for it to be shipped but would
recommend getting it blasted and pan fitted before doing so and doing the
job correctly. I'm guessing $500-$600 to do that and have it painted. That
would be the engine bay and front end and the entire under chassis. Put the
new upper and lower control arms in and spend a few extra bucks to get the
front end bullet proof NEW.

The engine could be sent off to a mechanic mate of mine to get rebuilt
(freshened up) and painted. I'm guessing $5-800. While he's doing that, I
was going to drop the body off and get the body work done and painted
$3-$3500 back to the original red.

I think the car comes with a new re-upholstery seat cover kit so I could do
that while its in getting painted.

$18,900 (that's a worst case scenario) would have the car practically
complete in need of re-assembly. New tank, front and rear bar ($300) carpet
and dash pad $250ish, front window and rubber $250ish fitted. If you allowed
another $2000 for door handles, mirrors, chrome bits, window rubbers and
felts, fuel lines, brake lines, trans lines....(might as well do it right)
allow $1000 if you don't want everything new.

Car has a disc brake front end, 390 FE and a C6 trans numbers matching. I
can get some more info on the build tag and the VIN number later in the
week.

I am currently looking for an Adelaide family for this exact car but they
would prefer something that's allready done. Everything I find is in the
high 30's to mid 40's and there is NOTHING OUT THERE....there very hard to
find and they bring good money finished

This car finished would owe you an easy $20,000 but doing it correctly I
could guarantee is a $40.000 ALL DAY LONG and could be sold with in 2 weeks
of advertising

Cool thing about this car is that it can be done at your financial leisure.
It can stay at the work shop another 6 months before you sent it down for
paint where it could stay for another 6 months until you had the funds to
keep going with it...that was sorta my plan but with a 2 month (all up) turn
around time and do it at my leisure

Personally, I think its a great investment even if I went totally crazy with
the new parts and replaced EVERYTHING NEW and it owed me $25,000. It would
be a car that would be basically brand new and would only increase in Value
in Australia (or world wide) as there is only one other 68 convertible "S"
code in Australia....the one I tried to purchase 3 weeks ago for my clients
the USA, is now on its way to Paris (think it sold for $$34-38,000)....very
sought after car with only 220 of them ever built

Hope that helps

Matt

Holy crap Matt!!!

That S code sounds tempting... I have just recently bought a 68 C code vert from over yonder and am awaiting import so can't afford to fork out a whole bunch more myself right now.
I know someone who just may be interested in the 66 Fastback so will point him at this post.

All the best with it all...

Cheers,
Mike

Why is that a bad thing (that you took some time for your own?)

Did it all go smoothly? If you need any bits, let me know, I'll get it delivered straight to you.

apart from the fly wheel being to big for the bell housing :_....yeah..pretty smooth

cant believe I didnt notice...now I gotta chase another one up  :_:_:_

If I just had 4 days from 6am till 8.30pm...this car could be finished...but I dont....and if I keep paying other people to work on it to get it finished...it defeats the purpose..better to sell it as it is before it owes me the same as a 2010

:+
