Had our 67 4 years and she (The Owner) who is always obeyed, still has not driven it.
Son,daughter, son in law etc have all had a go but herself doesn't like the idea of sitting near the gutter when driving!
LHD doesn't excite her one bit.:(

Yep we made it.
Stopped polishing at 2am that morning.
Run the motor in on the way down.
Didn't wipe the bugs or dust off.
Still took home something for the Mantle.
We're both happy, was an excellent day.
Lots of compliments.
Confirms its all worth it.

Sorry I didn't catch up with you Igalop.
Found it was a bit hard to stay with the car and look at every thing on show.

The Bendigo crew put on our own display when we stopped at Calder Macca's on the way home.

Griffs Nuts and Bolts day next.

Big thanks to Bill Cant, without his assistance in the last stages we would not have made it.

Roger.

Yep, All good thanks.
17,000 mls added to the clock since the rebuild.
Been to Adelaide, Gold Coast, numerous car shows to Melbourne and regional VIC.
The usual dodgey repo failures but the back yard paint job still holding up reasonable.
Ange is still driving it everywhere.
And the new failane project WILL be started soon.

Roger.

Sorry Jack, I still haven't started the Fairlane, too much other stuff happening, and the mustang seems to be an on going project some times.
Thought I'd add some pics,

Some prep work before the Goldcoast Nationals 2011 , Fix grass hopper damage, & repaint some parts.
it was entered for display judging.

remove the faint topcoat over spray.

Repair the grasshopper damaged paint on the grill.

and re do the inlet gaskets, thats been a regular as the  watter jacket is so coroded and thin.

Done QLD and had a ball even with 7 days of rain.

R.

Didn’t enter the car for display judging for Newcastle Nationals this year, starting become an old car now with Ange driving it every where.
Once again had a great time at the Nationals but didn’t holiday much after and returned home over 2 days.
Rolled into Wodonga on the way home and she wasn’t running  so good, missing and running rough at idle.
Back home in the shed, motor out, dismantled, honed, re-ringed, new timing chain cover, another set of reco’d heads, new lifters, new inlet with ceramic coating, 3 months off the road and Ange has finally got it back. After 20,000miles on that rebuild, I hope it lasts a little longer this time.
I’d had these heads since the eighties and the engine rebuilder missed the cracks on the out side so they’ve been leaking slowly since 2006.

With the motor out I had an oportunity to repair the brake fluid damaged paint on and behind the steering box. Plastic master cylinder cap had cracked and lost fluid.

New inlet had a couple of trips to be coated, I wasn’t happy with the finish in the deep recessed areas.

The ceramic coating on the pipes have grey’d off but they’re still clean and tidy, maybe next time.

Its back on the road, Ange is happy and I should get back to my projects. The bike needs a little lovin too.

Hi Roger, Looks like you did a top quality job on that engine.:thumb:

Seeing that your heads were leaking i would assume it now runs better than ever?

Look forward to catching up with you and Angela in October.

How is that Fairlane coming along?
