I spied this car in Sacremento last year. Anyone care to have a guess at make, model and what's unusual about it?

Dont know what car it is , but it looks to have some sort of 'suck through' supercharger.

Weird.

Cheers,
Frank.

I think supercharging was tried on early Hudson flathead engines, but not sure about this one.

Reminds me of a 1930's Studebaker.

Car is an early 30's Pierce Arrow, with a crankshaft driven rotary supercharger.

I'll have another stab at it. Judging by the headlicht mountings and the depth of the Radiator shroud, which is painted, I'd say 1936/7 Pontiac with previously described crank driven blower.

Actually that's not strictly right as Graham-Paige dropped the "Paige" from the name in 1930, but I'm not suggesting the cigar shouldn't be duly awarded to the worthy winner. :2
