hi guys, ive restored a couple of mustangs and done the muscle car thing and also restored one to organial, but now its time to have fun in my new mustang (do some 1/4 mile times/burn out comps etc ) ... just thinking a about a couple of different engine combo's or maybe a turbo set. now my question is who has the fastest mustang and what are they running

I suppose we all would like to think we have the fastest mustang, If you wanna do somthing different try a Boss 5.4 donk with a supercharger, Otherwise do as what pleases you, Myself I like the eye candy too, fast is not high on my agenda, but to drag it is allways fun and driving it is more fun.

This is a very tricky question because it depends on the year and which model of each car.

For instance in 2008 there are 3 different saleen mustangs. There is a non supercharged saleen that makes around 335hp, a supercharged saleen that makes around 435hp and a extreme supercharged saleen that makes 550hp. So, as you can see, this is a tricky question depending on which year and model. If you just want a general answer though, the shelby's are generally the fastest. We will take 2008 mustangs for example. You have the gt 500 shelby supersnake that is a 725hp car that will run 1/4 miles in the high 10's with drag radials. After that there is another shelby supersnake version that puts out 600hp which will prob run 1/4's in the mid 11's. Then you have the saleen extreme which is 550hp and runs 1/4s in the mid to high 11's.

Then there would be the shelby gt 500 KTR (King of The Road) which makes around 535hp and that will run 1/4s in the low 12's. Then you have the shelby gt 500 which makes 500hp and runs 1/4s in the mid 12's. Then there is the supercharged saleen and stage 3 Roush which both make in the neighborhood of 435hp and both should run 1/4s in the high 12's. For 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 there are no cobras that have been manufactured. The last year a cobra was manufactured was 2004 and it was factory rated at 390hp but in reality put out around 420-430hp and ran 1/4s in the mid to high 12's.

There are rumors floating around that Fords SVT department will put out a cobra mustang in 2010 but no one even can confirm that the SVT department is still in existance so who knows.

CVEPerformance.com is getting a 95 model ready for himself. Full weight, with a 302 stroker, we are looking for easy low 8's, and high 7's if we lean on it. All steel body, no tubs, standard suspension, all glass, still with electric windows! Unfortunately, the car is still left hook, because it looks pretty standard!

There is a dealership in New York I believe that is selling 2008-09 Boss Shinoda Mustangs with one or two turbos that are making between 500hp to 1100hp.

I know of that car he runs it in the Pro 5.0 class in FFW.
