Hi all,
Just wondering what are peoples experience being with fitting headers :
1. Best brand
2. What to consider when fitting will they fit!) plug restriction, power steering ram bracket drop down, shock tower clearance
3. Long or short (preference)
4. Good exhaust shop (South side Brisbane)

I have a 302 windsor with stock exhaust system, power steer, with LHD.
Your thoughts experiences are appreciated on any of the given points

Hi Peter,
I have a '64 coupe with a standard 289.
A few years ago I fitted Hedman Headers long tubes (88308), no issue with fitting; I'm very happy with the product. Car is LHD, no power steering, with aircon.

See specs here, they would fit a 302, probably a bracket is needed for power steering: https://www.hedman.com/product-detail/88308

Sorry, I'm not able to recommend exhaust places in Brisbane, as I live in Perth.

Hi Peter,

I have a LHD 66 coupe, reasonably stock 289, auto, power steering. I used Advance Headers - http://www.advanceheaders.com.au/products/headers-extractors/ford/v8/

The headers bolted straight up, no need for a drop bracket for the power steering. I can get to the plugs quite easily. The clearance to the shock tower is about a finger but the headers have never rubbed.

Cookies Custom Pipes And Exhausts are at Wynnum

The Muffler Shop, Cleveland - I used them years ago when they were at Stones Corner.

Cheers

Some headers eg: Pacemaker will interfere with your power steering ram. I also have Advance Headers tri-y, ceramic coated. Fit well with my power rack & pinion.
