I pulled my 66 instrument  cluster out last week to run a new ignition  wire. I fixed that problem & created another. Now it will start in any gear. Coincidence C4 switch buggered or pulled a wire off somewhere???. I'm thinking if I pulled a wire off it would not start in park or neutral.
Was working perfectly  prior.
I'm all ears...

Is the switch on the box ok?

Mylittlepony1966

It was, I haven't tested it yet; however,  sussed on it now.

Starts in all gears. Haven't  checked tye switch yet. Don't know what the problem  was/is Aussie-67

Ok sorry misread your comment.  Thougt you sussed it/ fixed it.  If the wiring is ok  I would check the switch.

Update. Nuetral inhibitor switch  replaced. Still no change.
Actions completed;
●New switch body facing upwards on gear box
●set selector to Nuetral
●adjust switch  so that pin inserts approx 1/2" then tighten.
● refit kick down lever.
●still starts in all gears
●done this process several  times, & still starts in gear.

Any suggestions?

Seems like you bypassed the circuit with neutral switch when you ran the new start wire.
You have run the wire straight to the end point where the original one ran through the neutral switch to the destination.
Have to trace the wiring and check.

Clubman7,

That makes sense. What a pain in the date. It was dropping voltage to the starter that's why I ran the new wire. Sounds like I have inadvertently  bypassed the NSS, as stated.
You would know of a descent pictorial wiring diagram  for that switch would you?
Eg. Ignition in/out/reverse.
Love the old girl but the old wiring does my head in.
