69 heater box delete
« on: February 05, 2023, 03:21:15 pm »
hi all
has anyone thats done a RHD conversion on their 69 just removed the heater box all together and run without one ? on our other 69 we fitted an xw heater box  it was a pain in the arse to fit and id rather not if i didnt have to .
ive been told if you have a  12v dash fan in the car thats good enough to demist the windscreen and the cops cant defect you . could be crap but would be an easy solution .
open to ideas , originality is of no concern , the next guy can always change it .
thankyou

Yes the heater can be an under dash fan arrangement.  But check with your local authorities first.

You need to run a heater for the demister a friend got defected for a bypassed heater core.
When my 66 was converted to rhd they flipped it upside down, cut it up and fiber glassed it back together
does anyone remember laughter

Thanks guys , I see you can buy little  12v demisters ( the original heater box is MIA ) and wire them in . I found  a hot rod rodders page and the common theme there was a 12v hair dryer rigged up under the dash just to pass inspection.

If you do decide you need a heater box, I have a couple of spares in pieces you could use/modify - just a suggestion.
