Brake line (hard) size

Quick questions - is the brake (hard) line size/diamater on an original car 3/16?
I need to replace a section from the master cyclinder to distribution block. I only need about 50cm, if that. Don't really wish to buy a huge length of tubing. Any suggestions from where I might get a short piece?

Yep, 3/16".
Drop into a brake shop and see if they will sell you, or better still give you, an offcut.
