cigarette lighter

i have a 2016 mustang ecco .i have just installed a dash cam and powered it up via the cigarette lighter.i have noticed that when i turn the engine off there is still power at the lighter,im worried that this could put too much drain on the battery,however i have noticed after leaving the car for about an hour the camera goes off ,can anyone share some light on this

Hey, Only in America would they still fit cigarette lighters! No I’m wrong Lada’s come with a cigarette lighter but no radio, no power steering, no sat nav. or air conditioning, hahaha.
