Idle Speed with York A/C

<< < (2/4) > >>

pmb0186:
A common problem for York compressors is vibration.
If anyone's interested I do have the solution.
It don't laugh its called a vibration bar and fitted stock but most have been removed over the years.
also don't forget the idler pulley.
I can barely tell when the compressor cycles

I sourced an original solenoid and bought a bracket, just need to do some modifying of the bracket to fit around the linkages of my later model holley.

Hi Pete

Do you have any pictures of the anti vibration system ?. I have an original York compressor on my car and it does vibrate at lower revs.

Cheers Steve

seany-boy:
intriguing discussion, made me do some searching too.
This thread has some interesting info and a google search shows a bar from the top of the York to the engine further back. Not sure if this was only used on early years as all the reference seems to be 65ish.
Also some comments about an additional fixed pulley which might assist.

Again not sure what years each are pertinent to, hopefully Pete or someone else has more info.

Photo attached. I made mine as a prototype and worked so well pained and installed.
