Idle Speed with York A/C

(1/4) > >>

seany-boy:
so just wondering what the experience is or the typical setup for folks with a York A/c. (next time it breaks I think a Sanden is going in).

So I think it is typical that the York is a bit of a strain on the engine - although I read about some differences with the a/c charge- and in my case that lowers the idle almost to a stall particularly when cold.

I suspect this is not uncommon but please correct me if I am wrong. What do folks normally do about this, run at a higher idle than normal or do I have a different issue?.

Ahaaa, just read the thread able the idle up solenoid  should've searched better. https://forum.mustang.org.au/index.php/topic,22790.msg227545/topicseen.html#msg227545

So what is the experience and is this the only way to solve it? Manual 4 spd.

Shep69:
I had to use a idle up solenoid with my sanden compressor also. Works a treat.

seany-boy:
cheers, I found the 70 came out with one standard so I will try one.

barnett468:
the stock compressor should never drop the rpm by more than around 125 rpm at idle on a stock engine that is properly tuned, when it kicks on.

pmb0186:
I fitted idle up solenoid its adjustable and works a treat
