Megzee67:
Yeah Phil, there's something about the TransAm series that turns us old fella's young again....
Nice yarn about the chap you met....

Utter sacrilege that Judge Judy can take precedence over a 1968 Holman Moody 427. Mustang in full flight......but don't tell your dear wife I said that...
Cheers mate.

AussiePhil:
Hey Michael,
I was in bike gear, he asked what I was riding, Yamaha WR450F, I told him how fantastic they are, point and accelerate, not like the old days you'd have to dodge ruts and rubble etc. Then we spoke about about the two Irving Vincent bikes and two Irving Vincent side cars that did laps for the Bathurst 500, see there web site, sounded great! Then we spoke about the bikes I've owned!
Then I showed him photos of my Mustang and engine, I had to convert 300kw and 705nm to hp and ftlb for him, he said you are an OLD SPEED DEMON, hahaha
May last year I fell off my dirt bike near Hill End, miles from another person on my own, had to get back on my bike and rode 34km toward Bathurst, before I couldn't go any farther, only spent a week in Orange hospital, they said with covid, had more chance of surviving out of hospital, broke 9 ribs (3 flail ribs) broken sternum, broken shoulder blade, punctured lung, two broken vertebrae, displaced C6 vertebrae 50% and spent four months on my back!
I went over the handle bars and bike landed on me!
I'm thinking of having another ride soon, now that I'm a lot better, it's the best feeling on a dirt bike!
Cheers Phil

Megzee67:
Nice recount Phil.....
Interesting story.....but 9 broken ribs Plus the sternum plus, plus.......Crikey mate, you tough old bugger.....
Sneezing would have been a joy?....The Mustang cage is safer by far...
Take care next time you jump on your dirt bike Phil

AussiePhil:
Hey Michael,
Good to hear from you!
Stay well.
Phil
