Every major city in Australia has their problem suburbs where poverty is more pronunced and crime spree will flare up occassionally. I remember Walgett NSW had similar issues a while back causing indigenous kids run amok in the streets. Happenned in Geelong VIC, Mandurah WA, Alice Springs, Darwin just to name a few. Now it's happenning in Townsville unfortunately. It all comes down to parental education or the lack of it. It will disappear eventually, the law always wins.
