Suppose it depends where the hole to enter the cabin is.

I might get a new one and try.

Thanks reply.

OK thanks will look into it.

BAC:
As birdman and mcarnage59 have said, the only things that will affect your indicated speed vs actual (provided you haven't changed the diff ratio) are the diameter of your wheels/tyres and the drive gear on the transmission end of the speedo cable.

Once we know the diff ratio, wheel/tyre size and what kind of transmission you have we can calculate the number of teeth you should have on the end of your speedo cable. It's then a simple job to yank this out and check against what you have now.

Thanks Brian, Will check it all out.

Clubman7:
New cable fitted earlier in the year was a standard Mustang repo cable which although fitted to a rhd converted car did make the distance from the gearbox to the speedo.
Unfortunately bend out of transmission puts too much load on the drive gear and it chewed out gear again.
Ordered new gear and XW-XY Falcon cable to replace standard Mustang one.
Fitted it today with Falcon cable being about 350mm longer.
Gives much better path without having to bend too as tight a radius in places.
Also drive size of square on each end of Falcon cable is the same size as the Mustang cable I replaced. (Read somewhere they were different.)
Will test this weekend.
