1967 Ford Mustang build.

 :flag:G'day guys.

My car is heading to the body shop in late April for a complete modcon resto.

I've chosen the Heidts IFS and IRS.

I've bought a T56 magnum with a 2.97 first ratio.

Next up I need an engine. I'm split between the following two coyote based engines.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6007-A50XS    $22000AUD delivered

http://www.roushperformance.com/engines/50l-coyote-rsc.html   $32000 delivered

I'm leaning towards the XS based on cost to fun ratio. The XS puts out 500HP vs 600HP from Roush. I'm sure with some decent tuning and some small mods I can get 550HP if I wanted for a fraction of the price.

I want some opinions on which one would be more reliable and is the extra $10,000 worth it.

Cheers guys.
York.

it's your money so I'm going to tell you to get the roush motor.
However, if it was my money and I wanted more than the 400hp a stock coyote will put out, I would grab a supercharged coyote out of a local FPV. They make well over 500hp stock and with exhaust, tune, injectors and a bit more boost they are making 550hp at the rear wheels of an fpv, so you do the maths.
They pop up on ebay and gumtree for around 15-17g.

But seeing as this will be a 150k+ plus build, money isn't an issue so get the roush brand new.

Thanks for the alert.  :thumb:

They are now gone to bother other places in the cloud.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the Duct Tape.
